It’s after some drivers raised concerns about the limit near two speed cameras being changed from 30mph to 20mph in New Malden.
They say the signage in Traps Lane and Kingston Road is ambiguous as the council’s former 30mph Speed Limit Zone signs are still up (Traps Lane pictured).
That’s despite the road markings and new roundels saying 20mph.
The authority says “enforcement of the new limit will not come into effect in these areas until the process is complete.”

We are working to ensure that all incorrect signs are replaced to reflect the new 20mph speed limit. We can confirm that enforcement of the new limit will not come into effect in these areas until this is complete.
