Kingston Council is reassuring drivers that they will still be able to claim their allotted free parking once cash machines are removed.

The authority is switching off on-street parking machines and says the most convenient way to pay will be through the RingGo app.

Some have questioned how they will be able to claim their 30 minutes of free parking which exists in some high streets.

Kingston’s MP, Sir Ed Davey, admits that cashless isn’t the way forward for everyone.
