Detectives were called London Road between 2.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday where a victim was threatened with a knife.
Police say the suspects fled the scene, and no items were taken.
Three men and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested for attempted robbery but have since been released on conditional bail.
