It’s understood the home secretary’s summoned church leaders for a meeting after the case of a chemical attacker in Clapham.

Labour’s Yvette Cooper says the home secretary has serious questions to answer about how a chemical attacker was allowed to stay in the UK.

Abdul Ezedi, a convicted sex offender, targeted a woman and two children with a corrosive substance in Clapham in January.

He’d been granted asylum with support from a vicar.
