Friends of a 16-year-old basketball player from Kingston have raised nearly £10,000 to fund career-saving surgery.

Max Avery sustained a complete rupture of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament during a college basketball game.

He was told there would be an 18 month wait for surgery on the NHS, so a GoFundMe page was created to raise the money to go private.
