Four Vietnamese nationals, including two from Croydon, have been arrested as part of a UK-French investigation into people smuggling.

They allegedly advertised illegal immigration into the UK via social media charging, migrants thousands of pounds to make the crossing.

A 64-year-old is believed to have collected migrants from the small boats and brought them back to an address in Croydon.

Another 12 people have been arrested in the Paris area, suspected of being linked to the same people smuggling network.
