The brigade was called to an end of terrace house along Blunts Avenue just before 11 o’clock Wednesday night.
Four people left before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene and one dog was rescued and is now in the care of its owners.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical fault in a fridge freezer.
