The Lawn Tennis Association is to invest £26,650 in 12 courts at areas including Auriol Park and Alexandra Recreation Ground.

The courts will benefit from gate access technology, a new online booking platform and aesthetic improvements.

The council says it will also work with the LTA to deliver a range of activity across the sites.

These will include weekly, free tennis sessions for all ages, playing levels and experience with equipment provided.

The project is part of a nationwide investment by the Government and LTA Tennis Foundation.

The aim is to get more people into the game.
