Elmbridge Council says more than 1,500 people have already checked whether they’re eligible, with nearly 1,500 claims paid.
The fines were issued in error because of a procedural problem affecting some council car parks between 2020 and April this year.
The Council says eligible claims are being paid within two weeks.
