Some members of the Oxford team are claiming sewage in the River Thames could have caused illness among among members of their defeated Boat Race Crew.
Organisers say they won’t speculate on what caused the illness, but high levels of e-coli have been found along the four-and-a-half-mile course between Putney and Mortlake.
This week Thames Water suggested improvement could be funded by a 40-per cent hike in bills.
Meanwhile police arrested four people they suspect of planning to disrupt the event. They included two men who glued themselves to Chiswick Bridge.
