Clothing retailer Matches Fashion is to be put into administration, 37 years after the first store opened in Wimbledon Village.

Tom Chapman and Ruth Chapman launched the brand in 1987 and there is still  a shop in SW19.

The business was bought by Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group in December for £52 million and employs nearly 700 people.

It also sells goods online and has a few shops in London, stocks designer ranges including Prada and Gucci.
