Omniplex Cinema Group, Ireland’s largest cinema company, has taken over the old Empire in St Nicholas Way.

The company has acquired a number of Empire Cinemas across England and Scotland that were facing closure.

It’s spent £22.5m obtaining and renovating the sites as part of an expansion into Britain.
