A Feltham based charity is welcoming the reopening of a scheme allowing more refugees to come to the UK.

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association says it will help vulnerable people fleeing persecution.

The UK Resettlement Scheme was officially reopened by the Home Secretary for new refugee referrals at the end of last month.

It had been closed in July last year.

Around 25% of new referrals are allocated to vulnerable Afghan women and girls fleeing the Taliban, alongside Palestinian refugees.
