All 10 recommendations made by former Chelsea captain Karen Carney in an independent review into women’s football in England have been backed by the government.

The document included a call to make the top two tiers fully professional.

It also wants to create a dedicated broadcast time-slot for the women’s game.

Culture secretary Luzy Frazer says ministers will help get the ideas off the ground.
