A woman from Surbiton who left her pony with an untreated lice infestation has been banned from keeping equines for seven years.

28-year-old Sophie Michelle Deluce pleaded guilty to failing to meet the needs of an animal she was responsible for.

She was also fined £120 and told to pay a victim surcharge of £48 and court costs of £400.

An RSPCA investigation was launched last April after a concerned member of the public contacted officers about the pony, named Clyde.
