Officers were called to Buckland Road, near the scout hut, to reports a man had been assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head, although not thought to be life threatening.
All three suspects, in their 20s and 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
