Richard Burrows, who’s now 81, arrived at the airport having escaped to Thailand when he was due in court in 1997.
The former scout master will be jailed at Chester Crown Court later today, after being convicted of multiple sexual offences last month.
The court heard that Burrows had obtained positions of authority to systematically abuse boys for over 30 years.
