A restaurant fire in Putney is believed to have been caused by a build up of oils and fats in the extraction system.

It broke out yesterday afternoon in the Upper Richmond Road.

The system from the ground to the second floor was destroyed by the blaze and part of the ground floor was also damaged.

No injuries were reported.
