Most commonly known in the US as the Ghost Orchid, it is currently on display in the Princess of Wales Conservatory.
Ghost Orchids bloom in the dark and shadows in Cuba and South Florida and release a powerful fragrance, but only at night.
Their populations were decimated when their host trees were logged in World War II to provide lumber for aircraft carrier decks.
