“Great Escape: Remarkable Second World War Captives” has launched at The National Archives.

It includes first hand accounts from survivors, including hand drawn maps and sketches showing how prisoners planned their escapes.

The exhibition has been timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Great escape from Stalag Luft III on March the 24th, 1944.
