The old print shop in King Street dates back to the 1830s.

But residents had complained of broken windows and problems with the roof were noticeable.

The council invoked its powers under section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act which was difficult due to building’s owners being overseas.

The notice mandated substantial improvements, including the restoration of windows, frames, doors, downpipes, and the roof.

It was issued in September 2021 with the owners given until February 2022 to make the necessary works to avoid prosecution.

The building is not currently in use and the owners are now considering further planning applications to bring it back into use.
