Police were called just after 3am to reports of a Mercedes in collision with a tree in Pembroke Road.
Officers, London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 22-year-old male driver of the car injured at the scene.
He was taken to hospital where his condition is critical and his family has been notified.
At this early stage no other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.
