64-year-old Nicholas Whittaker carried out gardening work and some decorating for the victim between June 2021 and April 2022.
But he was found to have charged well over the odds for the jobs.
A surveyor was instructed to review the property and determined that no work had been undertaken that came remotely close to the value.
Work that was carried out was of a poor standard.
