A fire which destroyed parts of two neighbouring houses in Worcester Park is believed to have been caused by unsafe disposal of cigarettes.

Firefighters were called to Caverleigh Way just after 10am on Wednesday.

London Fire Brigade are reminding smokers to fully extinguish their cigarettes before disposing of them.

The Brigade said: “If you don’t, you risk causing a fire which could not only destroy properties but also cost you your life.
