There’ll also be extra officers on patrol following a stabbing on Old London Road last Sunday.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital, his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police are still investigating the stabbing, and the measures are in place to prevent further incidents and reassure the public.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“At around 17:42hrs on Sunday, 12 April, officers were called to reports of an assault on Old London Road, Kingston.

“Officers attended the scene and located a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where his injuries have been assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

“No arrests in connection to the stabbing have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.

“A section 60 order was authorised following the incident, providing officers with additional stop and search powers to prevent further violence and disorder. As a result, three were arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons and drugs.
