A petition urging the government to review Thames Water’s plan for Teddington Lock is close to the 10,000-signature milestone.

Teddington Direct River Abstraction project will see water taken from the Thames during droughts and replaced with treated wastewater.

The petition, which could soon get formal government recognition, has been created by Ian McNuff of Save our Lands and River.

Thames Water says the TDRA is vital and will deliver up to 75 million litres of extra water per day during drought conditions.
