Sutton has launched a consultation on what it’s calling its “greenest ever” Local Plan despite preparing for a mass influx in housebuilding.

The draft document lays out details for the creation of 738 new homes annually.

But councillors also say the Plan ensures no green spaces will see their protected status changed.

Several sites, such as Grove Park in Carshalton, are also being designated as Metropolitan Open Land for the first time.

The consultation ends on the 31st of July.
