Around 60 firefighters responded to the incident in Roe Way on Tuesday night.
It took them more than three hours to extinguish the blaze in the end of terrace property after flames spread from the shed to the house.
There were no reports of any injuries although a cat was rescued and traffic in the surrounding area was severely impacted.
