The council is asking parents whether the current dates should be amended to better accommodate parents’ schedules.

Term dates must follow national rules set by the Department for Education and take account of exam timetables.

By law, schools must meet a 195-day school year.

This includes 190 days when pupils attend school and five professional training days for staff, known as INSET days.

The survey is open until May the 8th.

Following formal approval, any changed and agreed dates will be shared with schools and academies.
