Putney’s MP says she understands why a ban on plastic wet wipes will take time to come into force.

A ban on the sale and supply of wet wipes will come into effect in Spring 2027.

Labour’s Fleur Anderson has been campaigning for them to be taken out of circulation for over four years.

Around 180 tonnes of congealed wet wipes were removed from the notorious “wet wipe island” in Barnes in the summer.
