Feltham and Heathrow firefighters were among crews tackling a major blaze at a building in West Drayton early this morning.

Around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines battled the fire, which damaged a ground floor takeaway and first-floor properties above.

Residents in nearby flats were evacuated as a precaution, though no injuries have been reported.

Falling Lane remains closed between Royal Lane and Apple Tree Avenue while the cause of the fire is investigated.
