AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that their remedial pitch works are on track to be completed by early next week.

The club suffered severe flood damage following heavy rain in September which caused part of their Plough Lane pitch to collapse.

A fundraiser set up to support repairs raised over £100,000, including a £15,000 donation from Caraboa Cup opponents Newcastle.

The quick turnaround means The Dons’ match against Carlisle United is set to proceed as scheduled on Saturday.
