Claire Walsh is preparing to tackle 750 meters of open water at Loch Lomond next month.
She is raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and wants the funds to help research to raise the age of survival for sufferers.
Claire says her first lesson in April was more than overcoming a dislike for water.
