The incident took place on Queen’s Road at around 11am, he sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Road closures are in place between Old Avenue and St George’s Avenue while investigations are carried out.
Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage around that time to contact them on 101.
