90 solar panels have been installed on top of Epsom Playhouse as part of the council’s aim to be carbon neutral by 2035.

The panels will generate over 32,000 kWh of electricity annually, covering a third of the Playhouse’s current electricity usage.

They will also save more than 6.9 tonnes of carbon each year.

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council’s operational carbon footprint has reduced by 13% since 2019 when it first began to measure it.
