The route over the railway line connecting Castle Road to Epsom Common closed in February last year because of structural issues.
MP, Chris Grayling, says Network Rail has “promised” him the work on a new crossing will be completed this year.
It will involve a full closure of the line, but in the meantime, Mr Grayling says there is a lot of piling and preparatory work to be done.
