Independent councillor, Yvonne Tracey, has launched a petition to open an M&S on the high street.
It’s been confirmed that value retail chain The Range has struck a deal to buy the Wilko brand from administrators.
The agreement means they will own the Wilko brand, its website and digital trading team.
The sum has not been disclosed but is thought to be around £5-million.
