The world-famous tennis tournament brings thousands of extra visitors through the borough every summer.

There will also be extra litter collections, increased bin capacity in key locations and dedicated teams deployed to busy hotspots like Southfields.

Councillor Ethan Brooks, Cabinet Member for Environment at Wandsworth Council said:

“The Wimbledon tennis tournament brings energy and visitors from across the world, many of which pass through Wandsworth on their way to the tournament.

“We want to ensure residents don’t feel inconvenienced by this international event and so our teams work hard to make sure the borough stays clean, with enhanced cleansing services and waste management to keep our streets tidy across the two weeks.

“We’re also acting on resident feedback to ensure streets are clean and welcoming year-round, for example through the alignment of street-cleaning and waste collection services set to be introduced later this year.”
