Visitors to Richmond Park and Bushy Park must now keep dogs on leads until 31 July to protect newborn deer.

During birthing season owners are urged to watch for female deer and avoid long grass and bracken where fawns may be hidden.

Staying near the park’s edge is advised in case of danger.

The rule helps keep both wildlife and dogs safe.
