Video footage of what appears to be shark in the Thames at Hammersmith is doing the rounds on social media.

Filmed at the weekend, it shows a fin gliding through the water near the bridge.

The Thames is well known to be home to an abundance of wildlife with porpoises and dolphins spotted in the past.

At least five types of shark are also believed to have been spotted in the river in the past.
