Two women who were arrested at a vigil for Sarah Everard on Clapham Common have been awarded damages by the Met Police.

Patsy Stevenson and Dania Al-Obeid were detained by officers at the event in 2021 to remember Ms Everard – who was murdered by a serving Met officer.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said the gathering in south London took place in “extraordinary circumstances”.
