Trains between Woking and Wimbledon were delayed for much of the day after machinery needed for engineering works failed.

South Western Railway said on X that services had to be delayed, cancelled or revised.

Network Rail has apologised and says the machinery they needed to use for the overnight work failed.

The railway lines opened at 08.15am but trains were disrupted past 2pm.
