It was reportedly thrown from Sainsbury’s car park in the town centre at around 5pm on Tuesday, hitting a car and narrowly missing a child.
A 16-year-old was arrested at the scene, while two others, aged 15 and 13 were later arrested.
All three face suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life.
