The theme park giant behind Chessington World of Adventures has appointed its interim chief executive to the role on a permanent basis.

Fiona Eastwood will lead Merlin Entertainments, which also counts Madame Tussauds and Thorpe Park among its attractions.

She takes on the role ahead a of busy year of new launches, including the first standalone Peppa Pig Theme Park next month.
