Previously unseen photography alongside archive material has gone on display.

June the 6th marks the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings which was a turning point in the fight against Nazi Germany in WWII.

D-Day was plotted from March to June 1944 inside the huge military site, Camp Griffiss, that was based inside Bushy Park.

At its largest, Camp Griffiss housed more than 3,000 service personnel.

The Royal Parks charity is inviting people to Bushy Park to explore its wartime history.

It’s also urging people to take a look at the wealth of archived material on its website.
