Over 500 patients have turned up at A&E over the last year with blade and sharp object related injuries.

The Hospital has now become the first in the UK to install a secure knife and weapon disposal bin.

87 items have so far been dropped off including machetes and zombie knives.

Emergency surgery consultants have also been describing the impact knife crime has on hospital staff.

One, Cleo Kenington, says she has had to physically remove knives from patients on the operating table to stop them from bleeding out.
