The Liberal Democrat leader’s signalled he would back drilling in the Jackdaw gas field in the North Sea.

An announcement’s expected soon on whether the government will approve use of the site, which is located 150 miles east of Aberdeen.

MP for Kingston Sir Ed Davey says the project ‘makes sense’, because ‘a lot of gas’ will be needed in any transition away from fossil fuels.
