The leader of the Liberal Democrats says we have “no choice” but to increase defence spending.

Ed Davey says he supports the Prime Minister’s decision to up it to 2.5% of GDP from 2027.

But the MP for Kingston thinks the money should be raised in “different ways”, rather than cutting foreign aid.

The announcement follows calls by President Trump for Europe to increase security spending.
