Polaska is hoping to transform the old site in the high street into a six lane pool, training pool, gym and housing.
Purley Way Pools closed in 1979 after its total summer attendance figures dropped significantly to 28,000.
The pools were filled in and the site re-opened as a garden centre in 1981 before being sold to build the neighbouring Hilton Hotel.
