The festive tradition dates back to 1949 and celebrates the “enduring friendship” between the UK and Australia.
A cake is presented every year by either the States of Australia or the Australian Defence Forces.
This year’s cake was donated by Tasmania and featured a special message to the Royal Hospital and Chelsea Pensioners.
